Where Sliding Security Doors Solve a Real Problem
Understanding the functional and commercial case before specifying the product.
The Swing Door Problem
A swing door needs floor clearance equal to its leaf width — in a standard 900mm opening, that's nearly a meter of swing arc that can't be used for anything else. In a warehouse aisle, a parking structure entrance, or a commercial loading bay, that clearance either doesn't exist or conflicts with traffic flow.
The Sliding Solution
The sliding security door solves this by moving the leaf parallel to the wall, keeping the full opening clear when the door is open and the full wall space usable when it's closed. No swing arc. No clearance conflict. No compromise on traffic flow.
Top-Hung Track: No Floor Channel
The door leaf runs on a top-hung overhead track with floor guide, which keeps the bottom of the opening clear — no floor channel to collect debris or create a trip hazard. This matters in industrial environments where forklifts and foot traffic share the same floor.

The Commercial Case
The segments where sliding security doors are specified — industrial facilities, logistics warehouses, parking structures, commercial retail back-of-house — tend to order in volume and reorder on a predictable cycle.
A warehouse operator who installs sliding security doors on 12 loading bays doesn't mix and match suppliers mid-project. If your product performs, you own that account for the next build-out.

Track Hardware and Cycle Life: The Spec That Determines Your Warranty Exposure
The door leaf is the visible part of a sliding security door. The track hardware is where the product either holds up or generates warranty claims — and it's the component most buyers don't scrutinize closely enough until they've had a problem.
Top-Hung Overhead Track System
We run a top-hung overhead track system on all our sliding security doors. The track is galvanized steel, roll-formed to a consistent profile that holds the roller carriage without lateral play.
Tolerance Spec
Lateral play in the track is the primary cause of door drift — where the leaf gradually migrates out of alignment and starts binding against the stop or dragging on the floor guide. We hold the track profile to a ±0.3mm tolerance on the running surface, which keeps the roller carriage seated correctly across the full travel length.
Roller Carriage Options
The roller carriages use sealed bearing rollers — either heavy-duty nylon composite or steel, depending on the load rating specified.
Standard Commercial
Nylon Composite Rollers
Run quietly, no lubrication required in normal cycling. Specified for standard commercial configurations.
Heavy-Duty Industrial
Steel Sealed-Bearing Rollers
With grease fitting for periodic maintenance. Specified for 30–50 cycles/day in dusty or high-humidity conditions.
Field Note: We've seen nylon rollers degrade faster than expected in foundry and cement plant environments. If your end customer is in a high-particulate environment, ask us about the steel roller option.

Cycle Life Rating
Roller carriages are rated for 100,000+ open-close cycles under standard load. For a warehouse door cycled 20 times per day, that's 13+ years of service life before the hardware needs attention.
Factory QC Protocol
Every door is cycled through 50 open-close test runs at final inspection — we catch binding, misalignment, and roller seating issues before the door packs, not after it arrives on site.
Floor Guide: Surface-Mount Design
The floor guide is surface-mount, bolted to the floor slab — no channel cut required. This matters for retrofit installations where cutting a floor channel isn't practical, and it matters for industrial floors where a recessed channel would fill with debris and require constant cleaning. The guide keeps the bottom of the leaf from swinging out under wind load or impact without creating a floor obstruction.
Market Segments: Where This Product Generates Repeat Volume
Understanding where sliding security doors generate predictable, repeatable order volume helps you position the product correctly with your contractor and developer customers.
Primary Volume Driver
Warehouses and Logistics Facilities

A mid-size distribution warehouse typically has 8–20 internal security partitions and loading bay access doors — all candidates for sliding configuration where aisle clearance is constrained. Logistics operators who are expanding or building new facilities order in multiples of their bay count, and they standardize on a single door spec across the facility.
Order Pattern
High-volume, repeatable line item. Operators standardize on a single spec across the facility — if you're supplying to warehouse contractors or logistics facility developers, this is your anchor SKU.
Growth Signal: This segment has grown significantly over the past three years as e-commerce warehouse construction has accelerated across Southeast Asia and the Gulf.
Higher Specification
Parking Structures and Vehicle Access

Fewer doors per project but higher specification requirements. Parking structure sliding security doors need to handle vehicle exhaust environments, which means the coating system matters more than in a dry warehouse.
Why EUWOO Spec Holds Up
Our 500-hour salt spray rating and zinc phosphate pre-treatment hold up in vehicle exhaust environments better than standard iron phosphate finishes.
Typical Project Size: 4–12 doors per structure, with repeat orders tied to new construction phases.
Predictable Reorder
Commercial Retail Back-of-House

Stockrooms, receiving areas, and secure storage behind retail floors — the sliding configuration solves a specific problem: the back-of-house corridor is typically too narrow for a swing door to operate without blocking the passage.
Order Pattern
Retail chains fitting out multiple locations order in batches of 20–50 units per rollout, with consistent specs across locations.
Supplier Opportunity: If you're supplying to retail fit-out contractors or commercial interior contractors, this is a predictable reorder segment.
Long-Term Supply Relationship
Industrial Facilities

Manufacturing plants, processing facilities, utility buildings — specify sliding security doors for internal zone separation, equipment room access, and perimeter security on secondary entrances.
Typical Specification
Relationship Dynamic: Industrial facility operators tend to standardize on a supplier once they've had a positive installation experience — the initial order is often the start of a longer supply relationship.
8–20
doors per warehouse facility
4–12
doors per parking structure
20–50
units per retail rollout batch
Repeat
orders across all four segments
Steel Body Construction and Coating: What Protects Your Margin in the Field
The door leaf is cold-rolled SPCC steel, formed on our CNC press brake line. Standard commercial configuration runs 1.2mm body gauge — sufficient for the security and structural requirements of most commercial and light industrial applications.
Body Gauge Selection
For applications where the door is a primary perimeter barrier or faces higher abuse risk — industrial facilities, secure storage, vehicle access points — we run 1.5mm body gauge with internal reinforcement channels at the lock zone and hinge attachment points.
Commercial and light industrial applications. Meets security and structural requirements for most deployments.
Primary perimeter barriers, industrial facilities, secure storage, vehicle access points. Reinforced lock zone and hinge attachment.
Internal Construction
Hollow steel panel with a perimeter frame and internal cross-bracing. The cross-bracing pattern is welded — not just tack-welded — with full-perimeter welds on the internal frame members. This prevents the panel from racking under lateral load.
A sliding door that racks under load will bind in the track. The internal bracing is what keeps the leaf square across its service life.

Surface Treatment Process
-
1
Zinc Phosphate Pre-Treatment Bath
Bonds to the steel substrate at the molecular level. Gives the powder coat a surface it can adhere to properly, rather than sitting on top of mill scale.
-
2
Electrostatic Powder Coat
60–80μm film thickness. Applied over the phosphate layer for maximum adhesion and long-term corrosion resistance.
-
✓
500-Hour Salt Spray Test
Coastal and high-humidity market compliance threshold. Tropical climates, coastal regions, vehicle exhaust environments — zero RMA on coating failures.
60+ Standard RAL Colors
Available off the powder line. No minimum order requirement for standard catalog colors.
Custom Color Matching
Available on runs of 100+ units. Corporate color standards, project specs requiring a specific shade — we can match it.
Customization Parameters and Limitations
Sliding security doors have more customization variables than a standard swing door — the track length, leaf width, and hardware configuration all interact. Here is what we can and can't do.
Size Customization
- Single-leaf widths up to 2000mm within press brake forming capacity
- Beyond 2000mm: bi-parting configuration (two leaves meeting center)
- Heights up to 3000mm standard
- Taller openings require heavier track gauge — quoted individually
Send us the rough opening size for non-standard dimensions and we'll confirm the configuration.
Hardware Configuration
- Track length: standard 1.5× leaf width (full clear + stop buffer)
- Extended to 2× leaf width if wall space allows — softer deceleration at end of travel
- Soft-close dampers available as add-on for noise/impact-sensitive applications
Lock Configuration
- Standard: padlock bar with hasp — field-replaceable, compatible with any padlock the end customer specifies
- Hook bolt locks and multi-point locking systems for higher-security applications
- Access control prep: electric strike, magnetic lock mounting, conduit runs — factory-installed to your hardware spec
Finish & Panel Profile
- Standard: flat-face steel leaf
- Embossed panel profiles available on runs of 100+ units
- Vision panels (tempered glass inserts) available for applications requiring visibility through the door
MOQ by Configuration Type
Standard catalog sizes with standard hardware configuration.
Custom sizes, non-standard hardware configurations, or custom panel profiles. Below 100 units on a genuinely custom configuration, the setup cost doesn't make commercial sense for either side — we'll tell you that directly.

Have a Non-Standard Opening?
Send us the rough opening dimensions, your lock hardware spec, and any access control requirements. We'll confirm the configuration and MOQ before you commit to anything.
Discuss Your Custom ConfigurationInstallation Footprint and Site Requirements
Sliding security doors have different site requirements than swing doors. Getting these wrong creates installation problems that come back to you as the supplier. Review these parameters before the door ships.
Wall Space
The track extends beyond the door opening — typically 1.5× the leaf width. A 1000mm door needs approximately 1500mm of clear wall space beside the opening for the door to park fully open.
Bi-parting option: If wall space isn't available, a bi-parting configuration splits the travel to both sides, halving the wall space requirement per side.
Header Clearance
The overhead track mounts above the opening. Standard track mounting requires 150–200mm of clear header height above the finished opening height.
Low-clearance option: For installations with a structural beam or ceiling obstruction close to the opening, we supply a low-clearance track bracket that reduces the header requirement to 80mm — specify at order time.
Floor Condition
The floor guide is surface-mount, requiring a flat, level floor surface at the guide location. The guide itself is a low-profile steel channel, 20mm high — not a trip hazard, but worth noting for facilities with strict floor safety requirements.
Industrial floors: For floors with significant surface variation, we supply adjustable guide brackets.
Frame and Wall Anchoring
The track is anchored to the wall or header structure, not to a door frame in the traditional sense. We supply anchor bolt patterns and installation templates with every order.
Masonry walls: Standard anchor bolt installation applies.
Steel stud / light-gauge framing: We supply clip-angle kits that distribute the track load across multiple studs — the track load on a 1.5mm steel door is significant and shouldn't be anchored to a single stud.
Quick-Reference: Site Clearance Summary
Communicate these to your end customer before the door arrives on site. A one-page installation requirement summary is included in every shipment.

Container Loading and Landed Cost
Sliding security doors ship in KD (knock-down) format: door leaf, track assembly, hardware pack, and floor guide packed separately in reinforced cartons. The track ships in a separate bundle alongside the door carton.
40HQ Container
Standard Orders
150–200 sets
For 900×2000mm single-leaf configuration, depending on leaf thickness and track length. Lower than swing door loading (200–280 sets per 40HQ) because the track bundle adds volume.
20GP Container
Trial & Initial Stock
60–80 sets
For standard single-leaf 900×2000mm configuration. Suitable for trial orders and initial stocking runs.
Wide / Bi-Parting
Custom Configurations
For wider doors or bi-parting configurations, loading quantities drop further. Exact container loading calculations are provided with your quote.

Sibling Products: Matching the Door to the Opening
The sliding configuration is the right choice when floor clearance is constrained. If your project or distribution catalog has different requirements, here are the relevant alternatives.
Heavy Duty Security Door
Maximum forced-entry resistance when floor clearance isn't a constraint. 1.5mm+ body gauge, multi-point locking, reinforced hinge plates. Primary barrier for perimeter security applications.
Commercial Security Door
For office buildings and retail applications where the opening is standard-sized and a swing door is practical. More hardware and vision panel options in a swing configuration.
Exterior Security Door
Weather-sealed perimeter and heavy-duty threshold for main entrance and outdoor-exposure applications. Ask us about weather seal options if the sliding door location is exposed to weather.
Security Door Frame
Reinforced security door frames available as standalone components. If you need frames only, or need to match frames to an existing door spec, our frames are available separately.
Buyer FAQs: Sliding Security Door Sourcing
Direct answers to the specification and procurement questions that come up most often. If your question isn't here, contact us with your project details.
What is the maximum single-leaf width for a sliding security door?
Our standard press brake forming capacity handles single-leaf widths up to 2000mm. For openings wider than 2000mm, we configure as bi-parting — two leaves meeting in the center, each leaf up to 2000mm wide, covering openings up to 4000mm total. Bi-parting configurations require track on both sides of the opening and a center stop post, which we supply as part of the hardware package. If you have a specific opening width, send it to us and we'll confirm the configuration and track layout.
How does a sliding security door perform in dusty or high-humidity industrial environments?
The standard nylon composite roller performs well in clean commercial environments. For dusty environments (manufacturing, processing, construction), we specify sealed steel roller bearings with a grease fitting — the sealed bearing keeps particulate out of the roller mechanism, and the grease fitting allows periodic maintenance without disassembly. The zinc phosphate pre-treatment and 60–80μm powder coat handle high-humidity environments well — our finish passes a 500-hour salt spray test, which covers most industrial humidity conditions. For extreme environments (chemical exposure, salt air, constant moisture), ask us about galvanized steel body options.
What lock options are available, and can the door be integrated with access control systems?
Standard lock is a padlock bar with hasp — field-replaceable and compatible with any padlock. Hook bolt locks and multi-point locking systems are available for higher-security requirements. For access control integration, we can factory-install conduit runs, junction boxes, and electric strike or magnetic lock mounting prep. Send us the access control hardware spec (or the system model) and we'll configure the door prep at the factory — field modification after delivery is messier and risks voiding the structural warranty.
What is the MOQ for custom-sized sliding security doors?
50 units for standard catalog sizes (800mm, 900mm, 1000mm, 1200mm widths × standard heights) with standard hardware. 100 units for custom widths, non-standard heights, custom panel profiles, or non-standard hardware configurations. The 100-unit threshold is where the press brake setup and powder line changeover cost makes sense for both sides. If your project requires a custom size but your volume is below 100 units, contact us — we'll tell you directly whether there's a path to making it work or whether a standard size is close enough to your requirement.
How do I specify the correct track length for a sliding security door?
Track length is typically 1.5× the leaf width for a single-leaf door — this gives the leaf enough travel to clear the opening fully when open, plus a 100–150mm buffer at the stop end. If wall space is limited, we can reduce to 1.3× leaf width with a soft-close damper at the stop end to prevent impact. For bi-parting configurations, each side runs independently at 1.5× the individual leaf width. We include a track layout drawing with every order confirmation — if you're specifying for a project, send us the wall dimensions and we'll confirm the track layout fits before you commit.
What certifications does this product carry?
ISO 9001:2015 (quality management system), CE (European conformity), and SGS (third-party audit and testing). SGS audit reports are available on request for buyers who need third-party documentation for import compliance. For market-specific certification requirements beyond these, send us the spec — we'll confirm whether our product qualifies or what modifications are needed.

Why Buyers Specify EUWOO
The sliding security door is one of the more specification-sensitive products in the range — track length, hardware grade, and body gauge all need to match the application. The fastest way to confirm fit is to send us your opening dimensions, application environment, and target volume. Our engineering team will review it and come back with a configuration recommendation, a detailed quote, and a track layout drawing.
Sample Order Process
Most buyers in this category start with a sample order of 2–5 units to verify the hardware operation and finish quality against their project spec before committing to a container. We can ship samples on standard lead times.
